WorkWell Programme

Helping our patients stay well and working

Good health and good work go hand-in-hand. When we feel well, we’re more able to stay in work, enjoy what we do, and support ourselves and our families. But when health problems – like stress, back pain, or long-term conditions – get in the way, it can be hard to stay in or return to work, even if we want to. Our WorkWell Programme is helping people to stay well and stay working.

The WorkWell Programme is an NHS-led initiative designed to help people stay in work or return to work when health issues are affecting their ability to do so. It brings together healthcare, local authorities, employment services, voluntary organisations, and employers to provide coordinated support.

  • Access to fully funded physiotherapy, with no waiting lists.
  • Access to fully funded therapy and counselling, with no waiting lists.

The programme also works with employers to create healthier workplaces through flexible working practices, occupational health support, and staff wellbeing initiatives. It aims to support around 2,000 people, particularly those affected by mental health conditions, musculoskeletal issues, and long-term health conditions.
